Valentine's Day Weekend

I've never been hugely fond of the very commercialized holiday, Valentine's Day. It seems to always bring disappointment and unnecessary expenses. This year was different though. This year we had the pleasure of taking Grandma Vicky out for her birthday, spending time with family, and spending time as a couple. It was quite a treat to go to the Brigantine, Pacific Beach, a movie and spend time with those we love. Will got to go to Old Town with his Mamu and Grandma Vicky too (before catching his cold). We all had a great time. I had the opportunity to cook Valentine's Day dinner too. That was one of my favorite parts too cause we don't currently have a stove. We discovered William loves meatloaf too.
Mat and I had a great time in PB. We went and saw Valentine's Day, tried a new place to eat, later had coffee at Zanzibar and walked along the beach. We didn't feel rushed and we felt very satisfied with the quality time.
My mom was laid up with a fractured knee cap. Originally we were going to go to the zoo ON Valentine's day. It all worked out perfectly though. As you can see, from the pictures, we had fun with our lil Valentine.

Sick Kiddo...and the life that surrounds us

It's hard to believe that a child can go almost a whole year without getting ill, but once he gets sick it never seems to end. Will was ill in January. After a trip to the ER to make sure he didn't have pneumonia we found out he had an upper and lower respiratory infection. Just as he became well, it hasn't been 2 weeks, and he has a cold. I feel so bad for the little guy. He's been in pretty good spirits, but the cold has definately made him into the cuddliest little William ever! Ha, I guess that's all it takes. Ever since he's been walking, cuddling isn't a priority on his list. However, I'll take the snuggles, even if it's just cause he is sick. Now that we're on the upswing of him feeling better, he is spending some 'qt' with Grandma and Grandpa.

It's nice to spend time with my hubby and get caught up on some well needed blogging. With Valentine's Day, the other holidays and a visit with Grandpa in the Hawaii and Nonamia, there's lots to catch up.

Here are some pictures of Will, though ill, cute as he can be. His fun-loving personality definately peeks through those rosie cheeks and glazed over eyes. My-oh-my how time passes by. He looks so big to me these days.

William's 1 year old

We celebrated Will's birthday twice. We had a celeration up in Lone Pine on his actual birthday and then also one 5 days after in Escondido. Will enjoyed friends, family, cake, ice cream, and lots of presents. The presents were all a bit overwhelming, but he loved them. He really enjoyed playing with his friends and visiting with everyone.
The theme was Dinosaurs. Ever since Will was 3 months old he has growled like a dinosaur. We even call him our Will-O-Saurus. He was a Dinosaur for Halloween too.
Will did not care for cake but he certainly enjoyed the fun everyone had at his parties. We look forward to the next year and all it brings.

Williams 1st Halloween

Halloween has never been so exciting for us as it was this year. William is 10 1/2 months old. He is a Triceratops. His grandma, Susan, made the hat for his costume. He was so cute crawling around. As you may know, it is quite warm in Escondido in October. My mom, Michele, through a big Halloween gathering outside for Will's first Halloween. Bubbles, decoration, food, candy, and costumes were the perfect recipe for an amazing evening. We had over 1,200 trick-or-treaters. Will was mesmorized by all of the costumes and people coming and going. His favorite thing were the bubbles, no contest. He only lastest 5 minutes trick-or-treating before crashing out from exhaustion. He did wake up later to greet more children though. We had a great time, and wondrful memories

Costumes:
Will = Triceratops          Dad (Mat) = Dracula          Mom (Jeanna) = Dark M & M
Grandma (Vicky) = Hilary Clinton        Mamu (Michele) = Gypsy

Christmas 2009

Christmas is always my favorite time of year. This year was NO different and actually was the best one yet. My mom, Michele, and Grandma Vicky came up to Lone Pine. Along with Mat's family, Brandon, Jennifer, Susan, Bill, Grandma Ramona, and Mia, we celebrated Jesus's birth. William was so funny opening his gifts. He would play, open, meander, and open some more. His smiles were priceless. Being with family was even better than ever before.
Will started really walking around Christmas. He would walk from one end of the room to the other. He didn't seem to mind falling. It sure wore him out, he didn't even make it to Christmas dinner. He slept near the table...in his chair.
It's amazing how much he has changed over the last year. His wonder, laughter, personality and love are so captivating.
When Christmas comes around so many people's expectations fall to a disappointing level. This year far exceeded mine. Everyone got a long so well. The laughter, joy and company captured my heart. I will never forget Christmas this year. Will loved every minute of it. I can only hope they get better every year for him and that we bring as much joy to him as he does to all of our lives. He is so smart ad I just want him to have a happy life.
